Ski Holiday Tips

Bulgaria was the cheapest place we could find for our ski holiday (March, 2010) and it was perfect! Although it isn't cheap like going to Coventry, it was affordable and impeccably good and comfortable. I think we owe this to the chalet owners. After a tiring day skiing we had a boiling-hot Jacuzzi and a dry sauna to relax our knees. Very nice breakfast was also part of the package along with the ski-lifts and ski lessons. Fantastic it was..

The Bulgarians are friendly and don't have the horrible habit of bargain, everything has a price and they don't change it according to the face of the client. It is a relaxing place, calm but with an active night life and great restaurants.

March is the best time to go because it isn't over crowded but it is still very cold and snows alot.

Accommodation

  • I staid at Nick Chakalov's chalet close to Borovets. Nick has all the gear you will need, plus he will give you breakfast, drive you to the resort, teach you how to ski, tell you the best restaurants to go and talk you through history and curiosities that make the vacation even more interesting.
